Our client is a leading business within the food manufacturing industry and is seeking an Account Manager to take full commercial ownership of one of their top Marks & Spencer accounts. This is an end-to-end role with responsibility for sales performance, margin delivery, and overall P&L.

Working closely with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders, you will drive category growth through effective planning, forecasting, innovation, and strong customer partnerships. This role is ideal for a commercially driven individual with a strong understanding of customer management, procurement, and data-led decision making.

What’s involved for the Account Manager…

  • Take full ownership of food categories, driving sales, margin, and overall P&L performance
  • Manage food procurement and planning to ensure optimal availability, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Partner with the sales team to develop and execute customer account plans, including strategies and negotiations
  • Monitor and achieve KPIs across sales and margin, proactively identifying risks and opportunities
  • Generate accurate demand forecasts to support inventory planning and financial projections
  • Lead the commercial strategy for the category, covering pricing, promotions, and range optimisation
  • Drive New Product Development (NPD) initiatives aligned with customer needs and gifting trends
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow the category
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers
  • Leverage market, competitor, and customer insights to anticipate and meet customer requirements
  • Challenge existing processes to drive continuous improvement across the business
  • Analyse KPIs and customer data to deliver actionable improvement plans
  • Champion best practice in Hygiene, Health & Safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards

What you’ll need…

  • Experience in an Account Management or Commercial role within food manufacturing
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships and negotiations
  • Experience in forecasting, planning, and KPI management
  • Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work with autonomy
