In a nutshell…
Our client is one of the fasting growing companies in the UK, and are looking for an experienced Production Planner to take full ownership of the production schedule, ensuring efficient and effective planning across their manufacturing facilities.
Working closely with key stakeholders across Production, Fabrications, Engineering, Finance, Business Support, Sales and Procurement, you will play a critical role in mitigating supply chain risks, supporting on-time delivery, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
What’s involved for the Production Planner…
- Create, maintain, and update the Master Production Schedule for assigned manufacturing facilities.
- Prepare and communicate weekly work schedules to Production Management, subcontract partners and the Management Team.
- Hold production meetings.
- Ensure the Master Production Schedule is aligned with inventory and On-Time-Delivery-In-Full targets.
- Review and revise schedules as required, ensuring appropriate stakeholders are alerted to any changes, risks or delays.
- Provide labour resource requirement plans to the Production Management team and support agreed load-levelling targets.
- Develop capacity across the end-to-end manufacturing process, identifying variances and supporting action plans.
- Facilitate weekly cross-functional performance reviews to assess progress against plan and agree rescheduling requirements and production priorities.
- Recommend feasible solutions to recover backlogs or address late supply chain enablement.
- Maintain agreed Advanced Planning & Scheduling KPIs, undertake root cause analysis, and drive completion of corrective actions across the organisation.
- Lead and encourage process and systems improvements through Continuous Improvement methodologies.
What you’ll need…
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes.
- Experience creating, maintaining and managing Production Schedules.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using production planning, scheduling or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Ability identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet customer delivery requirements.
