Assistant Technical Manager

Stansted Full Time, Permanent, Monday - Friday £35,000 P.A (DOE)

In a nutshell…

Our client is large food manufacturing company based near Stansted that sell their products through all of the major supermarket chains in the UK.

Due to continued growth and expansion, a position for an Assistant Technical Manager has now become available to join a fast-paced production operation. You will assist the Technical Manager in maintaining and improving food safety, quality, hygiene and GMP systems to ensure continued third party, customer, and external accreditations.

You will lead and manage the hygiene teams, providing instructions and training to ensure that the site is maintained to the highest standards. You will also support the Technical Manager with internal GMP and QMS audits.

This role would suite a candidate who has a good amount of food manufacturing experience within quality, hygiene, technical or operations, looking to take the next career step.

What’s involved for the Assistant Technical Manager…

• Carry out GMP and internal QMS audits

• Comply with all site procedures and ensure the safe operation of all activities with your department

• Support QA Team Leader when required

• Provide cover for the Technical Manager

• Assist in the investigation of customer complaints

• Liaise with pest control contractors ensuring that site meets the correct standards

• Help drive continuous improvements initiatives

Skills and Experience Required:

• MUST have Quality, Technical or Operational experience within food manufacturing

• Awareness of BRC and audit processes

• Level 3 food safety certificate

• Food manufacturing or packaging experience
