Full Time, Permanent Peterborough Up to £27,000 P.A

In a nutshell…

Our client is a global leader of manufacturing bespoke and intelligent solutions for their clients. Their products are sold all over the world with a huge presence in the UK. Established in the late 1800’s, they are at the leading edge of creating innovative solutions for their customers all over the world.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and will ideally have exposure to management accounts procedures. As Finance Assistant, you’ll be putting into practice your organisation skills, strong communication and excellent teamwork as you support the day to day functions of the Accounts department.

What’s involved for the Finance Assistant…

  • Production of journals for prepayments and accruals.

  • Production of Company’s Cash-flow.

  • Assist with analysing and preparing monthly margin analysis.

  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts.

  • Deputise for Finance Manager.

  • Assist with payroll updates.

  • Looking after the fixed assets alongside the inter-company accounting processes.

  • Balance sheet reconciliations and subsequent variance analysis.

  • Support the Accounts Payable & Receivable.

  • Regular assistance with month end accounts production.

  • Raising cheques/ approve bank payments when required.

  • Audit assistance when required + other general office duties.

 

What you’ll need…

Whilst the company appreciates that applicants may not have experience with all the above tasks yet, they do at least request you are:

 

  • An active studier in AAT/ACCA or a qualified by experience.

  • Have at least 1 years’ experience operating within an accountancy role.

  • Comfortable user of Excel and accountancy software.

  • Effective communicator and willing to learn new skills.

  • Experience with VAT returns and reconciliations is advantageous but not essential.

  • Confident manner.

  • Strong team player.

  • Ability to prioritise workloads.

  • Experience of using Sage is desirable but not essential.

This is a Full time, permanent Finance Assistant role, working Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 5pm with a 4pm finish on Friday.
