In a nutshell…

Our client is a leader in manufacturing bespoke commercial equipment and solutions to businesses across the UK and overseas. They are the leaders in product innovation, and design concepts through to completion all on one site.

Working within an established team you will play a pivotal role in providing project and technical support to their manufacturing processes and management teams throughout the company. You will undertake manufacturing investigations with the aim of driving improvement and resolving complex manufacturing issues.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment spearheading projects, having exposure to lean implementation, continuous improvement, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, VSM and other lean tools. You will be the lynchpin between all key internal stakeholders from design to operations, manufacturing and production.

What’s involved for the Project Engineer…

• Directly control all manufacturing projects from concept to completion

• Adhere to and enforce H&S, risk assessments and COSHH management for projects

• Be the Ambassador for Lean Manufacturing

• Promote and lead best practices within manufacturing process

• Lead factory design flow improvements and change projects

• Investigate operational issues

• Support and drive the Kaizen culture with the training and development of others

involved in the project

• Use project management tools

• Interpret CAD or SolidWorks drawings

• Collaborate with design and development engineering to ensure designs are suitable for

a lean manufacturing environment

What you’ll need…

• Experienced project or manufacturing engineer

• Proficient with Lean Manufacturing techniques

• Continuous improvement experience

• Kanban, Kaizen, TPM, VSM or similar

• Ability to interpret CAD or SolidWorks drawings – IDEAL

• Experience managing projects within a manufacturing environment
