Our client is a leading force in the manufacturing industry, with decades of experience delivering bespoke solutions and installations across a variety of sectors. Known for exceptional craftsmanship and top-tier customer service, the company continues to grow and is now looking to expand their talented team with an experienced Production Planning Manager.


As the Production Manager you'll play a key role in their busy workshop, contributing to a variety of exciting projects. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background with at least 5 years of experience working within a production or manufacturing environment, demonstrating high attention to detail and strong organisational skills.


What’s involved for the Production Planning Manager …


  • Allocate labour efficiently in collaboration with the Workshop Manager.

  • Maintain and update the Training Matrix, coordinating staff training schedules.

  • Oversee CE/CA and Welding Certification compliance and maintain the Welding Matrix.

  • Resolve site issues alongside Project Managers.

  • Plan, coordinate, and log PAT testing schedules.

  • Organise HIAB deliveries and ensure full compliance.

  • Coordinate delivery schedules with the Projects Coordinator.

  • Manage lifting equipment and ladder inspections, logging outcomes accurately.

  • File and track incoming fabrication and installation packs.

  • Ensure job compliance and maintain accurate logs.

  • Liaise with the Health & Safety team to maintain safety standards.

  • Maintain on-call and call-out rotas.

  • Review weekly timesheets for payroll and invoicing accuracy.

  • Manage employee holiday requests efficiently.

  • Monitor and improve workshop systems and processes.

  • Provide cover for the Workshop Manager when required.


What you’ll need…


  • Proven experience in production planning, workshop management, or supervisory roles.

  • Experience leading teams within an engineering manufacturing or fabrication environment.

  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings

  • Knowledge of steel fabrication techniques and welding processes is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with CE/CA or BS manufacturing standards.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and quality standards.

  • Ability to problem-solve and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
